Got this to replace the sensor bar that originally came with my Wii. I thought I might have to play around with the timing a bit or something. No, connected and everything worked. As I said, it serves its purpose. Sometimes it's just the best surprise.

To make it easier to transport the Wii from the living room to the basement I bought a second power supply and this motion sensor panel so they're always ready Go and I just need to disconnect the wii itself from the connection in the living room and connect it below. This movement bar works exactly like the original, so there are no changes to the game. Great and very affordable Wii touchpad!

I wanted to post this for transparency. My cat recently chewed on my original Wii sensor bar cable so I had to replace it. Works well, but is significantly cheaper. First the silver plastic originally used, this is black with silver spray paint. Second, all of the edges are rougher, as if they were just cast and not smoothed out like the original. Make no mistake. Build quality is pretty good, I'd say almost better than the Wiis (but I lost my Wii touchpad about 10 years ago, so I don't remember) and works perfectly.
