I bought it to improve the WiFi signal in my winter sports house. I have line of sight to the resort WiFi, less than 500 feet. I was able to get wifi on the rooftop but not inside. First of all, what this router DOESN'T do—it doesn't connect you to the Internet through cell towers. It connects to an existing Wi-Fi connection and forwards it to your devices. In our camper, the campsite WiFi was fine - we only had one signal bar on our laptops and firesticks, and that meant frequent disconnects or download delays. I haven't been able to find out where WiFi with an antenna is available so I can't comment on that yet. I use my portable hotspot with a router and it works much easier than my Linksys router that I took away from home.
