Great drive!: Internal SSDs

This SSD has excellent performance on 12-pass writes (the drive has been written and erased 12 times at full speed) and is incredibly fast as a boot drive. Seems reliable so far, great performance and a great price. This 360GB version of the drive has 24GB of onboard "Z" sectors, which means that if a sector fails, the SSD controller chip can immediately mark the bad sector and copy the data to a new sector without intervention operating system or by the user.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Failed after three months

After three months of use, the hard disk remains as ROM, data is accessible, but flashing is not possible. The controller may have failed. I filled out a return form online to claim a 3 year warranty and never received a response or follow up. I would like to be contacted to find out how to return it.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Some disadvantages

Of course, why not, and so far so good

0.0 no problems yet. To tell you the truth, I don't put too much pressure on this drive as it's in a Core2Duo laptop that I use as a VPN server. I didn't test it either as the interface is SATA1 or 2. But as a good capacity drive at a reasonable price, it's just perfect. The drive housing is plastic, but that doesn't bother me too much - the paint doesn't drive the car. Overall good, I would buy again

Pros
  • dream come true
Cons

Works great with TeslaCam and Music Drive

Bought this along with a splitter and SCSI USB connector to use in my Tesla for TeslaCam/Music Drive. I first recognized the drive as a USB device from the PC and then formatted the drive. Then I used a free FAT32 partitioning and formatting tool for the TeslaCam/Music drive. Has worked great so far. So I recommend no questions. First noticed that he was slightly warm. It's kept in the trunk of the car so I'm not using the cover yet, I don't think it's needed. I would recommend the case if you…

Pros
  • Nice construction
Cons
  • Factor Set

Terrible RMA with 5% off the first month.

About 5% of them fail within a month. I filled out the declaration online and never received a reply or follow-up. On the other hand, Kingston and Adata have an excellent RMA and have no problem replacing the drive during the warranty period. As an IT professional who only buys SSDs for their students and employees, I would recommend avoiding this manufacturer unless they cover the items within their warranty period. Might be cheaper (which is why I tried 120 when SSD prices were crazy) but not

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • weak set

Works with USB to SATA III Hard Drive Adapter

Great product! I used this KingSpec 128GB SSD with a USB to SATA III HDD adapter and it worked great. I was able to run Virtualbox VMs stored on a USB stick instead of using the space on my SSD. Other popular SSDs couldn't handle the virtual machine's disk I/O (like SanDisk and Kingston). I'm a Linux developer, so this setup allows me to archive old projects on the KingSpec SSD but later run them with Virtualbox. For reference, the host is an i3 NUC workstation running Ubuntu 18.04.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • No

Fast boot disk for old laptops

I don't remember when I bought it. But I bought it for an older 2008 MacBook laptop to replace its slow hard drive. With an SSD, my old MacBook boots from off to ready in less than 20 seconds. The access, read/write speed is pretty fast for me. I don't know much about the different SATA SSD controllers, but this worked without any issues. I would buy it again to set up as a boot drive or as an extra external drive for any other old computer.

  • Wow

64GB SSD Computers and Accessories

Need a new c: drive for an old computer but didn't want to add a large drive or spend a lot. It seemed perfect. I see a lot of less than good reviews but so far so good, pretty fast, perfect size for OS and antivirus, a few other small programs. The only problem I found was that the screw holes didn't match the screws I had on the old drive, I cut them and installed them. So far the performance has been excellent. Would buy it again under the same circumstances.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Little things
