🧼 Polished Chrome Kingston Brass SD7601 Vintage Soap Dispenser, 10-1/4 inches Review

Very pretty, thread length not long enough for most countertops. I have a meat block and my carpenter had to use a router to install the dispenser. It also doesn't dispense a lot of soap at once, but that's probably good for me as I tend to overuse and waste it. Although beautiful and heavy.

So I bought this soap dispenser, installed it and filled the bottle with soap. I started pumping the dispenser only to find that there was no hole in the brass head to "poke" the soap out. I called customer service and they sent a new replacement. I repeated the same process with the new dispenser only to find out that this dispenser is made the same way without the soap dispenser hole! Nice decoration on the hood of my sink.

This dispenser, as another reviewer aptly said, is nothing more than a decoration. The whistle straw is narrower than your regular drinking straw and the dispensing opening should be the same micro size, resulting in a pea-sized amount of soap when you press the pump. Because the pump gets stuck, you can't even pump it twice. This dispenser has a shallow shaft depth, if your worktop is a bit thick this dispenser may be too short making it difficult to fit a soap bottle that comes out from under the shaft. or impossible. I had no problem with the length (thickness of the countertop) that others had as this came with a threaded rod about 3 inches long. It's been long enough. Mine didn't leak and the discharge port was fine. The pump worked as advertised. My problem is the aesthetics of the base. This should match the faucets I bought but the surface mount base is cheaply made, can scratch the countertop and is a little ugly compared to the faucets.
