Binchotan (Japanese Oak) activated charcoal is the highest grade of charcoal. These charcoals are from the Kishu region of Japan. Absorbs impurities from water, resulting in pure, great tasting water (filtering time for 3L of water is 3-4 hours). Use 1 stick for 3 liters of water; stick is approximately 2-2.5cm in diameter and 15cm in length. Reactivate charcoal every two weeks by boiling for 10 minutes and letting dry. Material: binchotan charcoal (Japanese Oak) from Kishu, Japan.

Replacement water filters are not very effective

Although I did notice a slight difference in taste when using this item my husband did not notice any difference. I will not buy again.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Works well but needs maintenance

I love this water filter but having to remember to boil it out every two weeks requires a little more maintenance than I would like. I prefer the monthly maintenance filter.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

Easy to use! in lamps for the kitchen and bathroom

These charcoal sticks are simply a salvation for me. I can't stand the smell and taste of tap water even though Chicago has a great filtration system. I can't go back after using them. So easy

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power

My water tastes good

I love this carbon filter. I have a glass jug of water that I keep in the fridge and since adding this filter my water has been amazing. My adult children have realized that water is made of water and are now buying for their homes.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Zero

Eco-friendly water filter

I bought a filter that can filter up to 3L for a 1.5L container. It works very well, I feel safe drinking water and I feel better because it's a more environmentally friendly choice than a plastic body water filter. I will definitely buy it again for another water tank. Simply wait at least 4 hours before drinking from the jug for the filter to work.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Some cons

Better than a plastic-coated activated carbon filter!

I have been using a plastic coated carbon filter system for a very long time. I've always hated that plastic filters can't be recycled. These charcoal sticks are so easy to use and I can compost when they stop filtering! The water tastes just as good, maybe even better, since I keep the water in a glass container instead of a plastic jug. My glass jar is a little smaller than this wand can handle, but that's what I had. The sticks are slightly more expensive than the plastic filters that I can…

Pros
  • Kitchen and bathroom accessories
Cons
  • Very expensive
