This straightener obviously gets hot. My hair is thin and the smoke scared me so I didn't dare grab it lol. try on unprocessed hair later. But if you have coarse short hair, this might work for you. 450 is too hot for my soft permed hair. This is just my opinion. (African American permed pixie). Big Heat for $30 I think it's a good deal for ladies with thick hair.

I bought this flat iron in October 2018 Pros: Ideal for very short hair Heats up quickly Cons: I don't prefer temperature control I don't know why such small irons don't have temperature control. If it did, it would be a plus and this company should consider it next time. One day in May 2019 I go to the iron and it stopped working green return to return.

FIRST! I love this iron! It really straightens my 4c/d hair. I recently cut my hair in a pixie cut and was very nervous about rocking my hair when I decided to straighten it. I love this straightener and may even make a review/how-to on it as my first YouTube video. My hairstylist recommended this to me and I'm glad I listened. Always five stars! *** Make sure to use thermal protection and only press hard when necessary!

This was the third pair of straighteners I tried and ended up leaving because they did the job best. The cheapest overall, but they heat up quickly and go straight on my hair. The only downside is that I can't adjust the temperature. So if you have fine hair I wouldn't recommend it but my hair is thinking and needs a lot of heat and it was perfect and even then both plates were in contact and I'd say they're the best yet for my short one pixie cut.
