I bought this scratching post because it is XL wide and I imagined my cat would stretch on it. My cat liked the size but I didn't like the mess the cardboard pieces made when using the product. Much more cleaning than the competition. Also, for some reason, the liner is glued to the box, making it impossible to use the back of the box. Competitors don't have that. look elsewhere

I have bought this product more than 8 times. This product used to be great. The outer design was good enough to be unnoticeable and the back was easy to open for the cat to have something to use. However, some things have changed. Cardboard used to be attached to the body, which allowed the cat to scratch the material. It now comes unattached to the case, so you're only paying for a small piece of corrugated cardboard. Also, the back is no longer perforated, making it impossible to open it…

The box had to be sealed with tape because it was too thin and not strong. The area for a cat to scratch its claws is the same as any other product, but the box that wraps around this particular product is too flimsy, too loose, and disappointing. I wanted to get rid of my current boxes which are a little bigger and more sophisticated which I taped to them after hard wearing but they are less durable than the ones I already have. Highly recommended for cats of all ages up to 15 lbs. I love that the scratching posts are made from recycled material and can be recycled again when worn out. Also appreciate the strength and cleanliness of the cardboard and the ability to rotate it in the container, essentially giving you two scrapers in one. All our cats love them not only for scratching, but also because they can sunbathe or sleep on them. The only three improvements I can think of are: (1) No need to repackage in plastic…
