🆕 New 2018 Klean Kanteen Wide Mouth Stainless Steel Water Bottle - Single Wall, Leak Proof Interior Cap Review

I bought this on purpose because it's stainless steel and the interior is stainless steel. It's not insulated, but I drink room temperature water, so that's fine with me. What I like is that the bottle doesn't get that "musty" smell because the plastic doesn't come into contact with water. I have others with plastic lids that I have had to throw away after each use because of the smell, even after washing thoroughly. Definitely recommend for the cleanliness factor and the bottle is a good size,

The water bottle has a wide opening to add ice cubes on short hikes. The ice cubes melt very quickly! and this water bottle i carry in a zipped "bergschmied" cordura insulated case - and it fits in a 30 liter deuter bag with spare clothes around the insulated sleeve - the ice lasts a maximum of 2 hours, even on cloudy days. I understand that conditions can change endlessly, but this really surprised me. BUY A DOUBLE WALL CONTAINER.

In general, I like it very much. Keep in mind that this is a single wall mug so it won't stay cold forever like a "YETI" or other brand's double wall mug. I bought this as part of a survival bag I'm building and the fact that it's metal and single walled allows me to boil water in it if needed. I needed a large metal water bottle for camping and traveling. I chose 40 ounces as it seemed like a good capacity but wasn't bulky. This is my second Klean Kanteen of this size and model. I still love the simplicity and durability. I bought my first in the early 2000s. As a distraction, I left it somewhere, but I ended up getting a new one. The lid and seal are different than my first one. The lid has a replaceable sealing ring.
