Good for Magic Lantern RAW videos on 5D Mark III

I bought this unit to record Magic Lantern RAW videos on Canon 5D Mark III. It doesn't score as high as some of the other 1000x cards, but it does a great job on RAW video. I can shoot up to 1920x1152 with no dropped frames with the May 30th Magic Lantern build. Aligning the partition on the card improved the benchmarks somewhat, but did not result in the ability to record higher resolution video. . The Transcend 400x I replaced took about 14 frames before slowing down. No quality issues so far

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • No auto mode

Hasn't let me down yet! Excellent purchase!

At first I was a bit skeptical about buying a CF card from a relatively unknown manufacturer, especially since I'm a professional photographer and don't want to lose my photos through damage. While my Lexar Professional Series cards and Sandisk Extreme cards failed, they didn't. I still put my camera on an extra card as a backup, but so far this is my only card that hasn't let me down. Its high speed is suitable for Full HD video recording and supports capturing 36MP RAW files with my D800 and…

I use this to capture Magic Lantern RAW. Works GREAT

Don't believe what other haters might say. This is the cheapest card and can record videos in RAW format. I've only used it on the 5D MK3 and can 100% confirm it. Would buy again. Shooting in 1080p gives about 12 minutes to fill the card. I also have a 32GB card that only lasts 6 minutes and I'd recommend getting the 64GB rather than the 32GB if you're just trying water because you want more time to record. A tip for RAW recording enthusiasts: format your 1000x cards to ExFat, otherwise any…

Crashing after a few uses

I've only used the card a couple of times, actually I wanted to reformat it the first time after uploading all the files. It started giving me errors when I couldn't read multiple RAW files (5D MKIII) when importing into Lightroom. It was relative. Then after putting the camera back in, she couldn't recognize or format it. I am using a Kingston FCR-HS3 USB 3.0 reader which is recommended and works great with all other cards. I really wanted to like this card as it is an affordable alternative…

Not for fast shooting

I was very happy with it, especially the price compared to GB was very attractive. I have a 5D Mark III and bought this card to shoot on the go but it either freezes or won't save files. After a day of shooting I tried to upload and all I got was BLACK! Very frustrating... made a few more attempts and the same thing continued, either frozen, black frames, or it prompted me to remove and reinsert the card and even format the card every few attempts. When I contacted the seller they wanted to…

So far no problems for computers and accessories

I understand that using these cards is a kind of happiness. I seem to have a good card that records at 90MB/s regularly, so there's no problem recording continuously at 1080p 24fps with 5D Mark III raw video. I've also started using it as my main card when taking photos at weddings. At first I loved how quickly I could shoot, but I was getting nervous about putting pictures of the entire wedding on one card. Now I pair this with a 64GB Sony SD card as a live backup. This obviously takes away…

spoiled with me! best in category Computers and Accessories

Earlier this month I redeemed my first KomputerBay Card. At first I was a bit hesitant because I had read about some of the problems; like it's a toss-up whether someone gets a good card or not. I then decided to give this card a try after seeing that it was half the price of the Lexar version and I was on a budget. I needed a 1000x card because I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III with Magic Lantern. My plan is to continuously shoot at least 1920x1080 RAW and gradually increase the resolution to…

Received a defective card. Be sure to test the card!

A defective card has arrived. Everything was fine with the fast format, the first tests of about 500 high-speed (10 frames/sec) frames were written without problems. It's been years since I received the defective media, so I haven't done any further testing. After about two weeks and 6,000 shots, the camera buffer started to fill up and fps slowed down, which never happens. Then the camera could not write to the card. At home I copied what data I could and then attempted to run the full format.
