These adapters come in handy when you want more freedom when using different sized lamps for a particular fitting. Instead of buying a specific size socket, you have the option to change the diameter of the socket from medium to small or vice versa with a socket adapter. Sockets can be removed and reused. I also bought another adapter for it. from candelabra to medium just in case I need it in the future. The price is good and the goods are not available in local stores.

I bought a set of three of these. The first lightbulb I put in a lightbulb burst when I screwed the lightbulb in. It was a thin candelabra bulb so I didn't rotate it straight but I kept trying the bulb in the socket and it didn't work unless I rotated it further. I use them to be able to use inexpensive 3 packs of "flame shaped" LED candelabra based bulbs (from my large warehouse/members store) in my new home's myriad of ceiling lights.
