Very SOFT, pleasant to the touch 100% cotton, THIN for hot and humid summers. The "RED" is actually a beachy pale orange color, the camel color is not the same as the picture but still a beige/khaki color scheme. The cut is ideal for slim leggy guys. I liked them so much that I bought four pairs because the quality is excellent.

I like that it's like canvas shorts but it's a lighter fabric so my son finds it more comfortable. And the elastic waistband is good. I ordered two different pairs for different colors and they have held up well through the wash. I had to use it as a bathing suit once and as the fabric wasn't too heavy it worked well.

Love the gray nautical/pirate prints we ordered for our 6 year old. But the lace is pathetic so we sent back the second pair we ordered. The drawstring is the only way to tighten the shorts (which is super important because he's a pretty skinny kid) - but they only left about an inch and a half of extra rope, making it nearly impossible to tie and untie!
