These are thin and light shorts which my 10 year old says are comfortable and fit well. He likes that they have pockets and are lightweight. They're about the size of a t-shirt, although the fabric is a little thicker. I think they are perfect for summer but too skinny for fall or summer so these are home/game shorts; I probably wouldn't send him to school with it.

Requested these for our 3 year old. He is a bit petite, so size XS (3-4T) is too big for him. For the record, he's about 38 inches tall and his shorts hit just below his knees. So if you're aiming for a gangster look, they might be perfect. !At a "normal" size for a 3 year old, they are likely to fit a little looser and last up to a 4 year old. We bought these light and dark gray sizes 9-10 for my 9 year old son who has a straight and slim build. They're long, just above the knee, but a little tight at the waist, which is surprising given how things usually sit on them. I would recommend buying one size or even two if your kids have a more athletic or heavy build. I don't use synthetic fabrics in my kids' clothes, so I love that it's 100% cotton.
