Build quality is good but note the connector is cross wired and may potentially damage products with SAE connectors. (The positive cable from the battery is always protected from accidental contact with ground with a properly connected connector.) After cutting off the end and connecting in reverse, the adapter works fine.

Luckily I noticed another reviewer's comment about polarity so I knew I should check it out when I received it and of course it was the opposite of what I was looking for my connection SAE expected. I was going to shorten it anyway for my purpose so I swapped the wires when connecting it so it wasn't a problem in the end but if I hadn't known I could have damaged what I was connected to so be careful before plugging it in and turning it on.

I bought this to plug the Battery Tender into my car's cigarette lighter socket. The polarity is reversed from the battery tender so I cut, swapped and soldered the wires. (Of course I didn't notice the warning in the product description) But I'm satisfied with the quality of the plug, it fits very securely into the cigarette lighter socket, 5 stars for that alone!

Like other reviews, the one I got is wired backwards. anything connected to it will be damaged, not to mention the exposed connector will be hot and could electrocute you if grounded. A guy who gave a rating above one star rewired his. I could do that too, but I think things should be what you pay for the first time, no change. Revain, please stop selling these.

Arrived quickly, arrived exactly as advertised. My only complaint about this item, which didn't apply to me, was that I had the end cut off. is that 12V+ (power wire) is the exposed side of the plug (bare connector). I don't know if there is a standardized way to install them, but in my opinion there is no point in leaving the positive side of the terminal unprotected as it could hit any metal and short out the system. Again, that doesn't apply to me, but I'd be disappointed if I ended up using

Item not received as shown. In the picture the red wire goes to the insulated side of the black. The one I received had a red wire going to the exposed side of the black connector. The material is of very good quality. However, the polarity of the plug is wrong. It has a cigarette plug hot wire that has a center tap that leads to the bare wire of the black plug.
