🏠 Lighted Gingerbread House by Kurt Adler - 12-Inch Christmas Decoration Review

When I opened the box and pulled out the house package, I knew immediately what was about to happen. I cut off a large piece of buffalo snow and went to the bathroom. I put on a pair of rubber gloves, place the bagged house in the tub and carefully cut the bag off. I picked up the house, put it in the middle of the snow and carried it to where it should have been. I'm just telling you this as a warning that if you don't take precautions you will be covered in glitter, possibly for life.

Absolutely charming design! It is very cute and embodies the traditional gingerbread house. There is a downside. Whatever it's made of, it has a strange smell. So much so that the aroma fills the room whenever you turn the light on or off (inside the house). Initially we thought the heat from the inside bulb was causing the smell, we switched the bulb to a lower wattage but to no avail. The smell is difficult to explain. Like fat and sweat. Just delivered today. I am disappointed in the quality of this product. There was a broken candy cane on the chimney and everything was very cheaply made. I think there must be cardboard under the glitter, the chimney moves and it's all flimsy. I collect gingerbread houses and they are as good quality as Valarie Parr Hill's gingerbread houses. My others have a solid and very strong structure. This is my first purchase of the Kurt Adler House. As I was writing this review, I took another look at
