Replaces the old Kuryakyn midframe "Thermal Protection". No longer has 2 mount points, only one, then 3 million mount points. Fits well and no longer tries to force the bike's side cover out where they removed the second physical attachment point. Improvement. The last one lasted 12 years before falling apart so they're relatively durable.

I wish I had it sooner! It's much cooler to sit at stops and the hot air from the engine is channeled while driving. Very easy and quick to install, took me longer to remove and install the seat than it took to install this one. No screws or bolts to worry about. I also think it looks way better than the stock Harley, more defined and less blocky.

Put them on my 2010 Harley Street Glide. Works well to bleed hot air from the engine around the legs and torso. The reflective smoke style adds a little accent to the rest of the chrome and also fills in the small gap behind the top rear cylinder. They attach under the seat with just one screw, so you need to be careful not to break them or get clothes caught on them when cleaning the bike.

I bought these to replace the stock black fenders on my Harley FLHTC. I liked the reflective/chromed/silver look, but the size is much smaller than the standard models (so I thought they would reflect heat much less effectively). I also didn't like how they were attached with a single screw and double sided tape - not good for positioning on a bike. I ended up sending them back and buying another brand that I like a lot better. I'm usually a fan of Kuryakin products but not this one.

08 Ultra with 124 S&S kit so this engine gets hot very easily! The downside of S&S is that taller cylinders cause problems when using factory heat deflectors. They go over the frame, bolt to the tank, and then down to vent heat. The reflective smoke color goes very well with the factory color (black pearl) and cleans everything well without looking messy. With the addition of the Love Jugs set, fans are now very happy with the temperature control.

Just received and installed. The fastest update. One screw on the back of the seat out. Remove the seat. Wipe the support points with the pad provided. Peel off the adhesive cover with 3 meters tape. Attach the 3m tape and apply pressure for 30 seconds. Install seat back. Put a drop of blue threadlocker on the screw. Insert and tighten. Ready! Step back and enjoy the new view. It took a bit of effort to install these on the bike as the instructions weren't the best as I was missing screws in step 1. I figured out where to hook them and resized them (again the picture/instructions weren't great) and they work fine. Be sure to protect from heat. I called Kuryakin to see if there was a video on YouTube about installing a heat shield, they said no.
