Description of KYB 333500 Excel-G Replacement Strut - Performance-Enhanced OE Model

A seamless working cylinder vs welded seams provides the best sealing surface throughout the entire piston stroke. Precision multi-stage hydraulic valves that reduces fluid travel to minimize aeration and are calibrated the way OE intended the vehicle to perform. Triple chrome plated piston rod and multi lip oil seals that reduce wear. Solid seamless mounting eye rings and bolt bushings that can't separate and become noisy. A Teflon coated or phenolic piston band that reduces friction and provides a positive cylinder seal.

Good Trip. in Strut Rods

If you're looking for an improved ride over the standard, choose the KYB. I installed them on the back of my 2003 Elantra and they work great with a better ride.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Excellent dampers in shock, strut and suspension

I recently bought these shocks to replace the factory stock on my 2003 Hyundai Elantra. You can really feel the improvement when hitting bumps and potholes in New York, great buy.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Expensive

Good strut on strut rods

I ordered these for a complete strut replacement on a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS. The job was fine, but don't forget to remove the rubber isolator on the underside of the spring from your old strut as it will not fit this new strut. If you forget it like me, the ride will be very noisy due to the metal to metal contact.

Cons
  • Ok

Quality Poor rack packaging

Replaced all four racks on my '01 Elantra GLS. The work was easy. The only criticism was the packaging. The striking arm popped out from the outside of the packaging. The device was not adequately secured against slipping during transport. I didn't see any damage to my arm. Apart from this accident I would buy this shelf again.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • So far so good

KYB are great supports but offer a stiffer ride if that's what you're looking for. They won't be as nice as the original supports, at least not in my 2006 Hyundai Elantra. Remember that you should always buy some items on your car as OE because the manufacturer WANTS you to buy their cars and not the competition, and luggage racks are the key component to a comfortable ride and they (the manufacturer) get their money will invest to get the BEST quality from whoever they choose to make a product

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
