KYB 349101 Excel G Shock Silver Review

The rear of the 2010 Ford Escape AWD started to "slip" daily on our washboard roads (12 miles to the curb). Easy installation, significant improvement in ride quality and the disappearance of the "skitter" / jump. Very pleased so far and my wife said the car felt "better than new". That's important because I don't usually get a lot of feedback, but she noticed and is happy too!

Sounds like a good product but you'd better trust your mechanical skills. The product arrived with exactly the accessories pictured but did not conform to the poorly written installation instructions. Rubber bumpers are different, the instructions don't indicate how they were installed. I have no idea why there are 2 nuts of different thickness, the instructions don't state 2 at all. The instructions say an extra washer/bumper for the bottom of the shock but nothing comes with it.

Replaced a shock I bought from a Detroit Axle that only lasted 6 months. They only had a 90 day guarantee. This shock absorber costs twice as much but has a lifetime guarantee. Should have bought beforehand. Although they are very easy to change. Took me less than 30 minutes total. It was something I didn't expect when the stock shocks clocked 95,000 miles. It is better to pay a little more for this extra guarantee. The damper also works perfectly
