My favorite knives!

I bought my first Kyocera knife around 2015. It's still very sharp, and we've since bought and donated several more knives. The disadvantage of such a durable blade is that these knives are brittle. I've never broken one knowing that, except for the guests of mine and those I gave them. Do not twist, jam or cut with these knives. Also consider using softer cutting boards like plastic or wood. I hand wash them. They made cooking so much more enjoyable for me. I used to avoid buying things like…

Use with care Best in Santoku knives

As the sharpest thing in my drawer, they break surprisingly easily. Right, right, they're ceramic. Long story short, I tried to cut a pineapple (come on, I didn't know!) with my roommate's ceramic knife and it smashed. I was getting a little scared so I immediately went online and bought this set to replace. I tried to hide the knife but she finally found it and asked if I knew anything about it. I confessed. "Yes, I gave up trying to hit a pineapple." She laughed sweetly and told me everything

  • Well built

  • Useless features

Great knives, but the "free " sharpening isn't exactly free.

They cut vegetables and other soft foods very well. They're super sharp, super light, and make the job of slicing and slicing almost a pleasure. As many others have warned, don't use it for boning or any action that puts sideways torque on the blades. Note: These blades are sharp and stay sharp for a long time (e.g. 10 times longer than steel knives) but need to be sharpened occasionally. And they cannot be sharpened like a normal steel knife. I've had mine for four years now and they finally…

It is very important to know what you are buying here

The most expensive part of this set broke very easily and smashed into a cheese board I was cutting. If you're a sushi chef these knives might be great for you, but if you're cutting thick meat, cheese, or anything else with a large blade from a set that's considered a bit difficult to cut or thick, do it. Don't expect a knife to last long and be extremely careful that a ceramic knife can break in your food. A very, very real concern and warning to be careful. The large knife is too thin and…

Great for juicing Asian knives

UPDATE: Long term update. I finally broke the blade today which I think is probably inevitable but has taken me 3 years of regular use. I bought a new set instead of using a chipped blade fearing I might break another piece as the blade isn't 100% straight which I might not notice and end up chipping in my food (yes) . It was really my fault, I dropped a pretty heavy glass bottle on him. Obviously you can't chip a metal blade, so that's a disadvantage of ceramic. However, this blade remained…
