Doesn't look like my real damask knife; is this real?

Overall happy with this knife. cuts well; Out of the box it's not incredibly well sharpened, but it's possible this is intentional so the user can sharpen it for the application. I have a much higher carbon handcrafted damascus knife that looks/feels/cuts much better than this one. I'm still not sure if this is actual bent/laminated damascus steel or just an imitation, but it looks good, is the right weight and cuts easily when properly sharpened.

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Bad set

The perfect knife for everyday use or to collect

First of all I really love this knife. The damask pattern looks so pretty that I hardly got to use it (although I ended up doing it). The surface is big enough that I can pick up all the ingredients and put them in the pan right away. The edge is sharp enough and ready to use. The weight is perfectly balanced but a bit heavy at the rear. People who are not used to holding a large knife may need to spend some time getting used to it. Will definitely buy their products in the future

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Hard to say

Buyer warning! Terrible customer service

I have hardly used this knife due to its massive size. But when I did that, the blade wobbled badly, rendering it useless! I contacted support by phone and a rude rep said the company no longer had a lifetime warranty (only 60 days left). I also emailed Kyoku support and got no response! I have bought at least 4 other Kyoku knives in the past but will not be buying any more in the future! A NOTICE. The Revain website still lists the lifetime warranty!

I like the knife in Chinese Chef's Knives & Cleavers

This was my first experience with a cleaver knife and it has become my favorite in the kitchen. I've used chef's knives before, so initially that was a big difference. The blade is quite thick but feels normal, not too big and heavy, and the handle feels good in hand. It came in handy for chopping garlic. I love picking vegetables and putting them in containers or pots. The blade proved to be quite sharp and after more than regular use for a month or two I was sharpening it again when I noticed

Pros
  • Useful for more than its intended purpose
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Beautiful cleaver, very sharp

This is my new favorite fruit cleaver. It is very sharp and cuts fruit without sharp edges. It glides like butter. I cut mangoes, dragon fruit, peaches and more. This makes for a very even cut since the body is so wide. I used to cut fruit with a double knife. This works, but often has wavy lines and is not as attractive. This cleaver keeps fruit as clean as a restaurant display case. The cleaver came in a nice box with a case. The box looks really good and it was a waste to throw it away. The…

NOT damascus blade

I recently received this product, opened it and used it. Arrived in a beautiful, high-quality packaging (cardboard box). Upon examining the knife, I immediately noticed that the blade was NOT DAMASCUS. Patterns were etched (with laser or acid). Although I'm not an expert in metallurgy, I have damascus blades and can tell them apart. I am very disappointed that the product does not match the description. Now I'm wondering if that's real V10 steel (I can't tell one way or the other). Performance…

I've had this knife for a few months now and so far so good. I use it two or three times a year. Every day I cut meat, vegetables and it's even sharp enough to slice the perfect piece of bread. I take very good care of it, unlike my cheap knives. It never goes in the dishwasher, I hand wash it after each use. Cleaver Heaven Best in Cutlery & Knife Accessories

If you've never used a cleaver before, you're missing out if you enjoy spending time in the kitchen. This 7 inch forged Damascus blade with a Japanese VG10 steel core is simply stunning. One of my favourites!

After using a few Cuisinart knives that were very, very sharp to begin with but became significantly less sharp over the course of a few weeks, I started looking for knives that would last longer. Ceramic knives (which I used before Cuisinart) hold a blade much longer than steel knives (when not abused), but it seems like all the ceramic knives I got were purposely not very sharp. In some cases, this was because the manufacturer didn't want the thin, brittle edge to break with normal use. Other
