Impressed! for men

I chose this for travel as the Col Conk puck is running out (and was quite a nuisance to use). La Toja got good reviews and was reasonably priced so I decided to give it a shot. Here's a summary of my first shave with it: Razor - Merkur 23C (length 180) Blade - Personna (blue box) Brush - parker hair from badger sideburns) and then lathered with a damp brush. I was struck by the wealth and speed at which it was achieved. La Toja seemed to offer a much better barrier than Colonel Konk's soap…

Pleasantly surprised.

I am using a shaving stick for the first time. I was browsing travel related shaving products and came across La Toja. I shave wet and have lots of soaps and creams in my rotation. For the price and the rave reviews, I realized there are no downsides. Damn, I was pleasantly surprised! Simply wet your face, wet the stick and glide. Then I took my Simpsons Duke 3 and lathered it up. It foamed slightly and the shave was impressive. Best of all, minimal cleaning. There is no bowl or bucket to…

Pretty Good Shave Stick

Not as cheap as Arco or Palmolive and not as smooth as some others. But the smell is significantly more pleasant than Arco, which many people hate. (I've never tried Arco but will be ordering a puck soon). I gave it 4 stars because at $8 it's a bit more expensive than the competition which is mostly under $5. But I don't mind much. Also, the plastic case is thin and doesn't really hold up, it shaves well. It does its job with a subtle "male" smell and no irritation. Maybe not as smooth or sudsy

SUPER handy - shaving soap

I love the smell, it's hard to explain but it has a 'classic' clean and almost subtle sweet mint scent. You only need a little to get a good amount of foam. It's like a cross between shaving cream and soap as far as lather goes. Perfect for travel or even everyday use if you only shave a few spots. 8/10 so far (sometimes the stick falls out of the small bottom holder).

  • Not the best

Great for my face

I wanted to try the shaving stick and this soap got a lot of mentions on various forums. I will say I bought the shaving sticks after trying them. Put some water on your face and start rubbing it on your face. It may not seem like much, but trust me, a small film of soap is all it takes. build and lots of it!. The razor glides well and after shaving I feel one of the best sensations. Does it have a soapy smell with a light floral scent? I can't understand it, but it's not overwhelming or…

Travelin' Stick for shaving creams, lotions and gels

This is my first time using a shaving stick and I don't know how to do it. So I wiped my wet face and lathered it up with a brush. It turned out to be a great lather, better than from a bowl. It will come in handy when traveling as the wand comes in its own case. Also a great shave! it's a keeper!

  • nice touch

Easiest Lathering Soap

I recently bought a pack of this soap to test my travel shaving kit. I'm frothing the bowl, not my face, so I wasn't expecting to enjoy it. After showering, I splashed more hot water on my face and wet the wand, then rubbed it into my stubble. I then applied a wet synthetic brush, squeezed out the excess water and started working on the soap with the brush. I was amazed at the pleasantly smooth lather that poured onto my face. I dampened the tips of the brushes a few times to thin the foam and…

My favorite razor stick

I have used several different razor sticks (Arko, Derby, Palmolive, this one) since I started wet shaving and my favorite is La Toja. The La Toja fragrance surpasses all others by a mile. It's not sharp and pungent like Derby or Arco, nor does it have that simple soapy smell you get from a Palmolive stick. La Toja smells of sandalwood with a hint of the sea - very pleasant and by no means too powdery/sweet. I find many similarities between the scent of this soap and that of Lea Classic, another

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
