Great product for storage

This product is exactly what I expected. It was easy to set up and works exactly how I envisioned it. All in all, I think it was worth the price I paid for it. It works great and is very useful for backing up data on my iMac. The fast FireWire interface allows me to easily and quickly transfer data to and from this product. The same speed makes it easy to view the files stored on that drive. Overall I think this product is a great buy, especially for people who need a fast, reliable drive to…

OK. Happy with computers and accessories so far

I've had a LaCie FireWire for about a year now and haven't had any major problems with it. Ejecting the FireWire incorrectly may cause problems, but many FireWires do the same. I blame the previous comments on the iMac, not just the LaCie drive. I work with a lot of people who talk a lot about iMacs and all their bugs. I've had a few instances where I ejected a drive incorrectly and it didn't show up on my desktop, but I hit it (literally), restarted my computer, and waited a few hours and…

amazing external hard drives

I bought this hard drive over 3 months ago. It's fast, quiet and reliable. But the most challenging test for me is portability. I pack it in my bag every morning and evening, moving it between my office, home office, client presentations, not to mention the plane. More > Excursions and weekend trips. I put him to a real endurance test. G Drive is compact and light enough to carry around every day, and most importantly, it's durable. No failures, no disruptions. Just fast, quiet, reliable…

I do not recommend this drive

The drive was accidentally disconnected without first being ejected. My foot caught in the plug and the plug was pulled out of the outlet. The drive is no longer recognized on my iMac with OS 10.4.5. Lacie Support reported that this was the case with FireWire drives and blamed the situation on MAC OS. They said that all other manufacturers have the same problem. I don't believe that logic. I'm sorry people. I cannot recommend your product.

 • Not suitable for everything

Good, simple and stylish hard drive

I bought this hard drive 3 months ago to use as extra storage for my iBook. I bought it with caution because it didn't get reviews and because the reviews for the big Porsche Lacie rims weren't enthusiastic. However, I didn't really need more than 100GB of storage space, I didn't need a backup button, I appreciated the design and the good price, and all that sets me apart from the rest. I use it almost exclusively to store music files and digital photos. So far it has worked almost perfectly…
