Ideal for tossing ice cubes into a tall glass to quickly chill iced coffee or tea. at the bottom. Then I remove the pusher, add more ice and push again. I bought this to use as a chopper. For this purpose I'm sure this will work. A lot of people have said it's small and described as a mini, but it's a little smaller than expected. Most disappointing is that it otherwise doesn't live up to its description. It is described as a riveted wooden handle and is not as described. It is badly painted, nailed rather than riveted, and appears to be made of cheap wood. I have other Lamson cookware so this is incredibly disappointing.

I need something strong (ie made in the USA) that will work for my chickpea bean puree recipe that I make all the time. The fork won't cut and the potato masher is too big. This is a good product that looks well made. I got it primarily because I mashed up some eggs for an egg salad sandwich. It works better than the large potato masher I used before and way better than a fork. I would suggest washing it well before first use, paying special attention to cleaning between the 'teeth' of the press.
