Product looks very good and is really useful. It just arrived and I'm already using it. The plush base makes it very comfortable to use. This is a very nice wide finish and the interior is roomy and wide. In general I like it very much. There are a couple of downsides though: The wood comes loose on the side where the lever that holds it in the open position is because it's very stiff. I tried applying some oil but it's still very hard and I was afraid it would ruin the wood top and come loose.

Defect. The corner is already torn although the box was in perfect condition and sealed with foam. So it looks like the crack might have been there before it was packaged. Even without cracks, it still doesn't feel as strong as I thought it would. The pictures are nice but the product itself is not very good. Apparently it's not made of the best materials. Be careful before buying.

Bought for my wife for Christmas. I like the look, but when I first opened it I noticed one big problem. There is a hinge bracket on the right side that should hold the top open. Update: I've been using it daily since I've had it. I really like it and it works great. I've found that lifting is difficult for me and it's better if I use both hands. Also, the upstairs room is significantly smaller than what I've used in the past, which is inconvenient. My son put a lock on the front which I like and works great. I bought it from Lowe for $2. Just bought this portable desk to use in my caravan as a small work station for keyboards and other small electronics, pens, papers etc. For $38, I expect this "LapGear" to be reliable with good materials. This product has exceeded all my expectations. It is amazingly functional and very attractive. The wood and felt lining is beautiful. This is a well made product that is worth every penny.
