Pretty strong and beautiful. When I received the product, I carefully ran my hands over all surfaces, looking for rough edges and wood chips. The inside of the handles, the bottom of the legs and the inside of the edges are rough and need sanding. Easy folding and unfolding of the legs. I wouldn't trust a tray unless the legs are extended to their maximum length. All in all you get what you pay for.

The finish of what I received seemed wrong. I've had it for a few weeks and got a dozen shards of it. It's beautiful and works as intended, but impractical to use. It needed some kind of sealant, which I don't seem to have. The wood also begins to crack and splinter in certain places. L If I hadn't thrown the box away, I would have returned it. Can't recommend in this condition.

I don't think it's a $40 product but damn it's useful! I'm mostly concerned with the quality of the wood. I saw a nick on one of the edges when I unwrapped it and within a minute of removing the plastic I had a splinter! My husband almost injured himself on the rough edge too. That being said (which is a huge disappointment) this portable table has been used in a variety of ways for 24 hours! I used it to work, eat and paint my nails. This is a regular desk. The bamboo is fine and the surface is smooth. I don't have any major stains as some other reviews have noted.
