My MagicGel cold packs are ideal for lunch. They keep food cold for at least 5 hours in all of our insulated lunch bags. Then depending on the isolation factor of the bags will really determine whether they stay frozen until the end of the work/school day. They are thin and easy to hide in a small fridge. I've used it in a small fridge, a small lunch bag, and a large insulated bag. They stay frozen at 100 degrees in Oklahoma summers for over 3 hours depending on the thickness of the bag insulation or refrigerator you use.
