They are thin and easy to hide in a small fridge. I've used it in a small fridge, a small lunch bag, and a large insulated bag. They stay frozen at 100 degrees in Oklahoma summers for over 3 hours depending on the thickness of the bag insulation or refrigerator you use. I prefer them to the thicker ice packs available at the big department stores. I've used frozen ice cubes, gel packs, and real ice, but these are my favorites. As for frozen ice cubes, I have a friend who tried opening them up and using them in her drinks - no! I'm so glad I caught her before she swallowed that crap! That's one of the reasons I love them, because they're clearly ice packs and don't take up that much space. There is also no water to clean up later. I will buy again.
