Not Worth the Investment

Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I can confirm that this product is not worth the investment. Although it claims to provide easy connectivity with parallel ports, it proved to be unreliable and caused more problems than solving them. The only pro is its low profile design, which is hardly a selling point. The cons outweigh the one pro, and I would not recommend this product.

  • Easily connects parallel devices to newer computers without a built-in parallel port

  • Requires an available USB port, limiting the number of available USB ports on a computer

Good card but the metal plate of the card is much shorter for a standard PC

I gave this card 3/5 instead of 5/5 for the following reason: My PC (Dell Dimension E310) has it not done with a parallel port which I needed for my parallel port printer (Xerox DocuPrint 4508) which is why I bought this parallel port card. When I received the card, I found that the card manufacturer didn't mention or know that the card's design (ie the metal frame that mounts on the back of the computer) is too short for a standard PC. However, I managed to work around this problem by cuttingโ€ฆ

This is for low profile PCs. Compare short looks with regular profile

This card is designed for flat PC slots, not regular slots. Compare the side view to regular maps. See the description of the map on the Lavalink website. The Lavalink site consists of the name plus a period and the usual domain suffix for commercial sites. I can't write this because Amazon censors links to non-Amazon sites.
