The whole leapfrog 3D system is disappointing. I ordered this book thinking that you can just plug it into the book and it will work, but you have to connect it to your computer and download the audio app. And then Leapfrog 3-D didn't connect. So I had a frustrated kid with a book that just said ask your parents to download it. It's time consuming, annoying and still doesn't work. This is a book, not rocket science.

I love this book because it helps my daughter to learn to read and write. She is three years old and figured out how to write most of her letters because I drew the letters dot by dot so she could trace them. It also makes the shape point to point and it helps a lot. It also has mazes and various cute characters. There is variety and it keeps my daughters interested, which is always the hardest thing to find. I would recommend it.

The stickers were cut incorrectly on the rewards page. The decal images show up perfectly, but the perforation is clearly from a different template. So if you rip off the sticker you will end up with a completely wrong shape and no actual characters on the sticker. Imagine a round image or dory but the sticker has been cut out as a large rectangle containing only 3% dory and 97% of the background.

I got these for my LeapReader 3D and the audio part works quite well but I was disappointed to find that 3D compatible books are in a completely different category. This severely limits the usefulness of the LeapReader 3D system as the 3D book catalog is quite limited. All in all it's pretty disappointing. The 3D display only needs a software update, but LeapFrog decided to save money and it makes the experience really disappointing.

All Leap Frog products are for the same little 4 year old who started prep this fall. I know they will now help him learn to read and write while having fun. All of them were with my older grandchildren a few years ago but have lost them over the years. I only have 1 other granddaughter to buy these things for and she is under 2 now so I have plenty of time to find her favorites! My 2.5 year old is very excited about his LeapStart and this book. BTW the one star review from the customer who complained that it made no sound was clearly not informed that it ONLY works with the LeapStart system. My daughter will sit with this book while I do the laundry or cook dinner. I wanted an interactive device for her other than the iPad. She is very knowledgeable on the iPad and since we have many educational apps on it I feel less guilty when she spends a lot of time with her…
