From the teacher. - Sorting and Stacking Toys

I recently attended a workshop where we used these tiles extensively to teach various math standards. I love this product and look forward to using it with my future students.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something

Tiles break on second use

I just bought these tiles and they literally break on second use. The tiles are made of two separate parts glued together - one part is red and shows a negative value. The glue spreads and the pieces fly apart. I would return them but I need them for my studies.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Useless features

Great tool for sorting and organizing toys

This item is as described. My only wish is that the individual packages are resealable. My students tore up the bags they came in and I had to tape them together so I wouldn't lose them. Also, there seems to be a lot of detail in each individual set, but there is actually very little that each student can do, so it's best to group students.

Pros
  • Excellent workmanship
Cons
  • Quality

Excellent: toys for early development and activity

there are no more. They work. I have found algebraic tile templates online to organize tile placement and streamline task learning. Converts division to the opposite side of multiplication, which I've never been able to explain. Shows simplifying expressions and similar terms. Once you see what they can do for your grade, you'll wonder why they aren't required for sixth grade! Remember to invest in ziplock freezer bags for storage.

Pros
  • beautiful thing
Cons
  • negative is present

If your school doesn't have these and you teach pre-algebra or algebra, you need a practice set. If you are teaching at home, you will need two individual kits. I bought the most complete set, which holds 30 students (more work in pairs). The only thing you should have on hand is some super glue, as some students will find a way to separate the positive colored side from the red, negative side. They seem to be at least average if not the best in terms of durability. Also included is a set of…

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
