Great toy for young minds

Bought this toy for my kindergarten kids. This item is made of durable plastic and is also lightweight. I love how colorful and bright the toy is and how easy it is to move pieces in and out of slots designed for Dino's digital scale. This toy is great for learning math, science, fine motor skills and learning to recognize colors.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Almost never

Fun and educational in 1.

My children really liked this toy. My 21 month old loves putting the pieces in and out. For my 4 year old I use it for his preschool education. Sometimes I ask him to arrange the numbers, sometimes I ask him to show me a certain pattern of pieces. It was a good educational toy and I like that it has a place to store all the pieces.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Crumpled

Not what I expected

I've bought my grandson almost every class available and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed! you want the little squares to fit in the holes and you have to use a lot of pressure and be very precise to make that happen. Her little fingers can't do that, so he stopped playing and did something else instead of getting his attention. I don't think it's a thumbs up.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Perfect for kids who love dinosaurs!

My dinosaur loving son loves this toy! He loves collecting Steggy over and over again. His occupational therapist also loves how fun these toys are as they develop fine motor skills. You can do many things with this toy - learn numbers, colors and counting. All spikes are stored on the back of the steggy, making it very easy to put all the pieces together. The plastic is colorful and durable, so easy to clean!

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Nothing

Play with it again and again!

My 20 month old plays with this several times a day. It provides just the right amount of "challenge" for them and it's very easy for them to pinch the spikes and set them in place. I wish the dinosaur had a bit more weight so the spikes are easier to remove and the base doesn't heal. It didn't stop my daughter from getting it and it's perfect for learning colors and numbers. We love it!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Suitable for children and OT

I got it for my son's occupational therapy course. It's really sturdy and I love that you can store the spikes in the body of the toy. Now I don't have to worry about losing parts of it when I put it away. The spikes fit into a rectangular slot and you have to push a little to get them in (you may have to do some hands first). It's pretty good for kids mastering the shape sorter. They have colors and numbers so it's fun to show them off during class.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Exchange possible

Great game for the little ones

I really like this toy. I also have a hedgehog from Learning Resources. I think they're both fantastic. Unfortunately I received two pieces numbered 1 and I'm missing either 6 or 9 (can't remember which number now). This is frustrating because now I can't use them to teach counting or numbers as I'm missing an important middle number (only ten parts). I can still use it to teach colors and ask for items, but I'm a little disappointed that I got two pieces numbered 1. Otherwise, I highlyโ€ฆ

fine motor skills Best toy for early development and activity

This little one is so cute and my 2 year old loves him immediately. The "plates" are numbered and colored so that there is also room for directional/educational play. I really liked that all the plates are stored inside. My only criticism is that the dinosaur itself is very light (not necessarily skinny), but the fact that it's no heavier than it makes it difficult for me to get weights in and out of the slot on its back. Sometimes everything lifts off the table when you take one out. We mayโ€ฆ
