I like the principle but I have found that this and 2 other ratchet straps, all from different manufacturers, slipped during use and required frequent re-tensioning. Apparently a belt's teeth, formed by the compression of leather, cannot be trusted as much as metal teeth, but metal teeth will wear down the fabric pressed against the belt more than leather teeth. Bottom line, it's better to go for a good old-fashioned strap with a shaft through an eyelet in the strap.

Works very well and looks high quality. I like that you can get a more accurate fit. You don't have to advance to the next hole like you would with a regular belt. You pull or loosen in smaller increments. This is a type of ratchet tightening or loosening. It's more convenient to tighten to the next step than to the next hole, like regular harnesses, only to find that one hole is too tight and the next hole is too loose to loosen.

Why not make it 1/8 inch larger so the buckle doesn't look abnormally large. It does not make sense. The leather material is ok. No premium or anything like that. Would have liked more if the strap was wider. Otherwise the design/idea is great. Also, the lock shouldn't be tight as the end always hangs down (instead of keeping the direction of the strap) and is cut correctly so I don't know if it's a design or what

This is a belt made in China by a Chinese company. I just hate the blatant lies that are so typical of Chinese sellers. This belt is NOT REAL LEATHER. Who do you think you're fooling? The belt is a quality belt at a reasonable price as it is made of PU leather. WHY DO CHINESE SELLERS FEEL THE NEED TO INTERMEDIATE/LIE? "The advantage of choosing high-quality genuine leather is that it only has a slight natural taste, say goodbye to the discomfort of inferior cowhide or synthetic leather."

This belt is not made of leather. The defect in the photo appeared after 2 days of normal use. I spoke to the seller and they were kind enough to send a replacement and the same thing happened with the replacement. I have provided them with various photos so they can work with the manufacturer on quality control. Although it's clearly not real leather. I gave 2 stars because the seller was very responsive and tried to ship a replacement item.

I bought a pair of ratchet belts about 2 years ago after losing weight. This was my first time using this type of belt and I was an instant fan of it. The ratcheting innovation is just right for the straps, and the 1.5 inch width works best for my belt loops. The other two straps were much wider and a bit harder and tighter for loops. Just thought you need to know when choosing.
