Stay away if you expect quality!

Wow, I'm really ashamed that leather craftsmanship has gone from American made to cheap Chinese junk! This thing is made mostly of polymer plastic and doesn't even come close to $65, $30 at most. I only bought it because my free multi tool didn't have the scissors or bit holder that the leatherman used again! I think this will be my last product I will buy from you!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Good and bad, but mostly good

GoodIt's light. It fits well in the pocket. The design of the scissors, awl, screwdriver and file is almost identical to the Free P4's tools; These are the new pliers from Leatherman. They all lock and feature a new one-hand magnetic opening system that sits comfortably on your thumb. The blade feels nice and sharp but is smaller than the blade of the Free P4 pliers, but this smaller blade also contributes to the T4's compact design. A pair of tweezers is also a good addition. The bad part is…

All in one multi tool that doesn't look like a multi tool

This is an interesting tool from Leatherman as they are really known for their plier based multi tools. Because it doesn't have pliers, it's a slimmer, more compact multi-tool that still offers plenty of options. Outer flanges are made of high quality metal, and inside the tools are separated by some kind of plastic. But don't worry, it looks solid. Because of the extra tools, this device is much wider than a pocket knife, which is a bit inconvenient, but I think it's necessary to pack…

Why the Free T4 is better than my Swiss army knife

I've been using the Free T4 almost every day for the past few weeks and I'm impressed with its performance and design. I have several Victorinox SAKs and prefer Free T4 to SAK for several reasons. T4 is better than SAK in heavy use. T4 screwdriver blades are stronger and won't deform under pressure like the softer SAK steel. The T4 Phillips is at the end of the tool rather than in the middle, taking up less space. All T4 tools snap securely into place so they don't fall on my fingers when I'm…

Well built but larger than I expected

Overall I like Leatherman tools. I carry my Charge Ti with me every day and use it every day. I took this free T4 for several reasons. First, I collect multitools. Second, it seemed to me that there's a subset of the tools that I've used the most. The overall quality is pretty good. Everything fits together perfectly. Tools open and close without intervention. The locks appear secure and are unlikely to fail during use. And that's probably what worries me the most as I still have the scar from…

Nice! Wonderful! Replaced My SAK

Some reviewers complained about the weight and thickness of this knife. Someone actually said it was an inch and a half thick. What a pot! The reality is that the Leatherman Free T4 is only 5/8 inch thick. Even when I measure the knife and clip, it's only 7/8" thick. My Swiss Army 4-ply Feldmeister is 1/16" thicker than the T4. It's too heavy for me to carry in my pocket to carry, as do my SAK Fieldmaster and Hunter models. Jeans, in a knife case, or in my purse. Free T4 is no different. That's
