I don't know why timer night lights are so hard to find?! I bought this for my toddler who loves to lie in bed and look at books before bed. It's great because it can "read" without straining your eyes and clearly turns off the time when it's time to sleep :) I just want the remote to go through the door (or under) works, but you have to aim the remote directly at the light to work. I've been using my original 2 night lights for 3.5 years and I'm still very satisfied. Husband likes her too. I've had to replace the battery twice in a remote (which I use daily) (the remote uses a CR2032 battery, which my car keys also use). As I use a night light in the bathroom I think the remote may have been exposed to too much moisture which may have shortened the life of the first battery. This review is long overdue. I bought Omeet night lights over 3 years ago. They held up until I replaced them a few months ago. (The lightbulbs still worked, eventually the remotes stopped working.) I love that this product has lasted so long (let's hope their good quality lasts because I've bought more...).
