Amazing Magnifying Glass - Loupes

Excellent product, bright light. I think UV might be useful but not for me. Solidly made and comes with a good case, which is actually also well made. Focal length about half a meter. Some noticeable distortion at the edge of the field, suitable for most cases.

Pros
  • Useful beyond its intended purpose
Cons
  • Reliable

Nice but too big for the handbag.

Bought to replace an old and less powerful jewelry loupe. This product is bigger, more powerful and backlit. It also comes in an oval plastic case. However, it doesn't fit in the frames of the bags I usually carry with me. This is an evildoer.

Pros
  • Looks great
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

This is a nice little magnifying glass, although I don't think it's 40x it's definitely more powerful than my confirmed 10x. However, the magnifying glass is upside down on the one I received. That means if I want to use an LED I have to consider the reverse image. It's annoying, but not big enough to bother with returns.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Works but has poor build quality

This is a good value jeweler's loupe that works as advertised but has poor product build quality as you would expect from many "Made in China" items. The metal body is thin with jagged edges. There's a fancy plastic light switch in there that breaks after a few months of use. It is also difficult to open and close the battery compartment. I will be returning this item and spending the money on a quality jewelry loupe that I can keep and use for years.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

🛑😥 DANGER I do not recommend this magnifying glass.

🛑💥🛑👎🛑 . The light is DANGEROUSLY BRIGHT! At first I liked it. After looking at 6 stones I noticed my eye sees grey! I was horrified that the magnifying glass hurt my eye! My Eye The doctor said that what the bright light did to my eye is called "bleached photoreceptor". Creepy! It came with a crack all over the top as well as the hinge. The key/tool for the battery compartment is not secured in the case as intended, so it can get lost after some time. I would not recommend this magnifier.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
