With a 15A outlet a 14 gauge wire or larger is needed. If unsure, the 15A outlet is recommended. Requires a minimum box size of 22.5 cubic inches. Does not require new wires for typical installation. Nice socket, but installation can be a hassle.

Nice outlet, really cool popup feature, but *ss trouble to install! It may not be for some, but I consider myself a pretty good handyman and had the time to put this thing in place. There's a lot going on in this outlet and it's quite difficult to fit into a standard outlet. .

Three things not to be told when purchasing this item: 1. It's massive and won't fit in a standard junction box! 2. The socket needs to go to the "end of the chain", only takes 2 wires and they connect at a non-standard box angle. I couldn't use it for the planned exit which is very frustrating!

Time will tell if it will hold up - lack of parts made installation agonizing

It's hard to say how long it will last (it seems fine when you look at it), but the installation was a fiasco. We ordered 2 and both were missing the white plate. There was a magnesium plate in the box, but it was a two-post plate, not the one-post plate we expected. The contractors had already installed them before we noticed the missing cover. If you buy they will probably be of ok quality, but check carefully for missing parts before installing. QC seems to be low on this product.
