The outside light on my van no longer works. When I went to change the lightbulb, I found that the cartridge was broken. Instead of replacing the socket, I opted for this LED block. Installation was pretty easy. The only problem was that the mounting holes and screws didn't fit the old bracket so I had to drill 4 new holes of the right size. I am very satisfied with the brightness of this lamp. With the amber lens installed, it's much brighter than the old light.

I am very satisfied with the light output of this device. It consumes 5W and emits very bright white light. The Revain description says it measures 5" x 2" x 2" and I have no idea where that came from. The base of the lamp was exactly the same as the lamp I removed. The lens the new light was a bit longer but it comes with two lenses. The screw holes on the top two screws matched exactly but I had to make new holes for the bottom two screws.

Based on other reviews this can't be a problem with any of these the seller sends out the door. However, on the ones I've received, the lenses don't snap securely into place and if you slide them away from the center of the case they fall right out. These lenses don't stay in place on the road. However, fixing this is easy. Use a heat gun to soften the plastic lenses around the small ridges, then gently push them outwards a hair's breadth. the task is solved. The lamp was very easy to install - about 15 minutes, most of which I spent removing the old bulb which had a lot of silicone around it. Very, very bright, many times brighter than the original. This is exactly what we wanted to light up the front "porch area" under the canopy. Replacing an old light fixture is pretty easy. The two things that keep me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that only 2 of the 4 holes match the holes on the original bracket. First of all, this light is many times brighter than the old lantern on the porch of my trailer! That's great! The reason for the 3 stars is that once it becomes available it will flow unchanged. The mounting flange is a rigid edge with no flat boss, making it impossible to seal it to the wall with butyl tape.
