Bought ten of these indoor/outdoor boxes to store electronic converters for CCTV cameras and actually used the cover to secure the base of small cylindrical cameras. Its slim shape, the pleasant beige color and the high-quality screw inserts in the lid make it an attractive solution for wall mounting. The box is thin, making it easy (even with hand tools) to machine holes of any shape, but it's not particularly strong compared to some thick-walled plastic junction boxes. I still like them a lot

I was debating whether to give this device 3 or 4 stars but decided to give 4 stars as it is a plastic case as expected. Plastic doesn't seem THAT fragile yet, maybe someone caught an inferior batch. Do what you want I guess. However, you really shouldn't buy this if you want something really airtight. Dust probably won't get in, but I don't expect the extremely soft padding material to be waterproof at all. More of a measure of wellbeing. The box just isn't stiff enough to hold up well enough.

Nice little project box but as many have said it's not exactly waterproof. Yes, there is a rubber grommet included that you have to fit yourself, but it's a little fiddly and can pop out if you're not very careful. In addition, the screws are not weatherproof! How can you have a "watertight" box when the screws holding the lid will rust over time and leak water? My use doesn't require weather protection, I don't even install a gasket and the first thing I did was drill some huge holes. So no comment on the weather and water resistance! The surface seems thick enough that I could fit large buttons that are enthusiastically pressed with less than an inch spacing (edge distance).
