6 piece specific heat metal cylinder set. Set includes copper, lead, brass, zinc, iron and aluminum. Each of the six metals in this set have the same volume, and measure 1.5" (38mm) in length and 0.4" (9.5mm) diameter. Each cylinder features a drilled hole at one end for suspension. Excellent for physics classrooms. This set allows learners to explore specific gravity & specific heat, and study density & mass. Due to the nature of raw metals, some oxidation or corrosion due to humidity and storage may occur. Simply scuff any oxidation off to make the item look brand new again. Designed to be used in an educational setting and are not fabricated using ultra high precision machining. Expect tolerances in the +/- 5% range of any stated dimensions (although they are generally much tighter).

Gives Precise Measurements for Science Projects

Using this measurement kit, our science education team found that the suspended length drilling and diameter measurements were accurate and consistent. The kit is Industrial and Scientific grade, making it a reliable tool for conducting intricate experiments. The only downside is that the kit is a bit pricey compared to other similar products in the market. Unmarked metals

Item is intact but they should have specified which metal is which. I had to use the mass and density of the metals I could identify to determine the volume of the samples. I assume they are all the same. From there I calculated the density to determine what was zinc and what was iron.

The cylinders are unmarked

This would be a great kit but the cylinders are unmarked so prepare to do a lot of work and calculations to figure out which is which. The seller helped answer my question, suggested what metal is in terms of consistency with the photo. However, they sent me a used kit (which also lacked instructions) so they were left unfixed. DO NOT REMOVE THE CYLINDERS FROM THE CONTAINER UNTIL YOU SEE THEM IN THE AMAZON PHOTO AND SELLER'S ANSWER BELOW! And I hope that a kit has been sent to you that has not…
