I love this lens cap!

I have two of these, one small and one medium. I took them with me on vacation and I'm very glad I have them! Went to Alaska and LILO! We were on the boat taking photos and everyone was disappointed that they couldn't take photos and then they saw me with it and immediately asked about it. I was able to walk out in the pouring rain with the camera and lens combo and not a single drop hit my system. Photographed behind waterfalls to protect my camera with it and I love it!

Pros
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Off fashion

It has potential, but it requires some personal 'hacking' work

Why can't these companies use common sense and make a worthy product really good? Overall excellent quality/fabrics but realizing this thing is difficult because it's just hard to attach to the camera! More specifically, yes you need a lens hood, yes there is a bungee cord in the lens body but unlike their higher end/bigger products this one doesn't have a built in rubber/grip so it's very difficult to hold the lens actually covering remained on the lens, making it pointless to have this thing…

Pros
  • Easy access to camera controls and lens
Cons
  • is unreliable

Too expensive for what it is

Works. Something like. May be. I have a Sony A77 with a 16-50mm lens as a 'running' setup, so I don't need the larger (and better specs) LensCoats. and still leave access to the viewfinder to make some adjustments: I sewed velcro strips to the inside of the lens grommet on the cap and applied very thin velcro strips to the top and bottom of the lens hood to lock the cap in place and prevent it from it falls in sight. I did the same with the top of the boot, sewing a small square of velcro on…

Pros
  • Protects against rain, snow, salt spray, sand
Cons
  • There are new competitors
