Based on other reviews I ordered a size larger than my son normally wears. He usually wears size 8 pants. I ordered a size 10. Unfortunately, the ribbons are for decoration only and cannot be adjusted. We had to fold down the waist belt to ensure they stay put. I bought these pants for my 11 year old son. He is 5'1" and weighs 87 pounds.
