These work really well to replace candelabra sockets in W**M*** ceiling fans. Yes I know they do this to limit you to 60 watts. What if you want to use spiral phosphors? Yes. I made 3 lamps but the third worked GFCI. This was tested for a short so the bulb fell apart and I rewired it. The construction is pretty good, isolated enough, but I have two tips. 1) Do not screw in the lamp shaft too deeply. The lamp stem can have a sharp edge and it is best not to insert it too far. 2) Gently bend the power cords to center them as they are inserted into the lamp shaft.
