I made 3 lamps but the third worked GFCI. This was tested for a short so the bulb fell apart and I rewired it. The construction is pretty good, isolated enough, but I have two tips. 1) Do not screw in the lamp shaft too deeply. The lamp stem can have a sharp edge and it is best not to insert it too far. 2) Gently bend the power cords to center them as they are inserted into the lamp shaft. (and damage) the insulation of the wiring (you tighten it with two screws). You could even put some black tape in there just to be sure. Other than that, the socket is well designed and properly installed, it works perfectly.
