The description was a little confusing but it was.

The description was a bit confusing but just what my ceiling fan needed. The black wire connects to the power supply, the red wire to the light, and the blue wire to the fan speed controller. The first pull of the circuit feeds only the red wire that turns on the light, the second pull feeds only the blue wire that turns on the fan, the third pull feeds the red and blue wires that turn on the light and fan. The fourth move disables everything.

Too bad it came with wiring diagram

Bought to replace a broken ceiling fan switch. The old switch had 5 wires, and the fan also had 3 speeds and an off position. (4 position switch) This switch was described as having 3 speeds and positions like the old one, but it only has 3 wires? There was no connection diagram, and an internet search yielded a very vague diagram from the manufacturer. Don't buy if you don't know what you are doing. I managed to install but now I only have 2 speeds and two unused wires.

WILL NOT WORK for most ceiling fans

Okay this is probably a great product for what it is intended for but I felt the product was advertised a bit misleadingly. I was looking for a switch to replace a 4 pole switch that had once failed in my ceiling fan. These damn things don't have pigtails, and it's almost impossible to fit standard wires into them. So it looked like a good solution. It wasn't and doesn't work for this application. So note that this device will NOT work in probably 75% or more of ceiling fan applications. This…
