The plastic is TOO BRITTLE

Like many buyers reviewing here, the switch plate came pre-broken for my convenience! In my case 1 out of 5. I definitely like the large plate area which gives more coverage in the exit area. During installation you will quickly learn how to thread the center screw carefully so as not to snap it due to ANY surface misalignment with the exhaust port. It's inconceivable that a manufacturer just couldn't figure out how to make their product out of less brittle (or more flexible) material. Here's a

Ridiculously fragile.

This is the most fragile piece of plastic I have ever come across. I installed it, and before it was anywhere CLOSE to an exact fit, it snapped into the screw attachment point. It was oriented correctly and wasn't hanging from an outlet. I was still in that state where I could just loosen it up by twisting the screwdriver shaft between thumb and forefinger. I haven't even wrapped my whole hand around the screwdriver handle. I was going to Low's later in the week anyway so I just bought a…

Good panel, but if your wall is uneven, choose a flexible panel instead.

They do their job. I needed a larger slab to cover the chipped tiles at the exit and that was enough to work with. I can see how over tightening is likely to cause them to tear. So if your hole is a little crooked or the wall flexes at all, you can get flexible wall panels instead. You can pull them down and they will curve or fall down, allowing you to fill in any gaps you may have when trying to mount them over a curved wall or outlet. I installed this on a very straight tile wall so I…

Some are fine, some are fragile.

I have ordered this product twice at different times. All the ones I installed from the first order worked great. I unscrew the screw with no problems. However, those of the second order were fragile. One broke upon delivery (although the packaging was undamaged), one broke upon installation, and a third broke shortly after installation. I have installed many outlet covers and switch covers and have never encountered one as fragile as the one I received on my second order. So it's probably…

Amazing wall panels, but only if they were flexible

I'll try to be short and sweet. I love these wall panels but honestly they are cheap plastic. You look great. They cover the exit areas very well as they are large in every way (length, width and depth). I was looking for something that specifically offers more depth to cover the back box I installed when moving the outlet. It did the job so I ordered enough to replace my entire house. Installing my second of a full batch, I cracked a panel too easily. I pulled it out to replace it and cracked…
