Works great. I don't think it's realistic to think that you only need to change your filters once or twice a year. I would probably recommend quarterly. The attached image shows the filter after less than six months of use in a bedroom where the device only works at night. It has parquet floors with a carpet.

These are original Levoit filters. I emailed the company to ask where to buy genuine Levoit filters and they sent me this link. If your air purifier still has a filter replacement light after installation, you will need to reset it by holding your finger on the light for a few seconds, after which it will turn off.

I am a 100% Disabled Veteran with Agent Orange Lung Cancer. I'm on oxygen 24/7 and anything that helps clear the air works for me. I've been wearing this device for less than a week but I'm sure I can feel an improvement in my breathing. It also cleans the air for my hub and is a big help too. We recently adopted a cat that I have never had before. About a month later I realized I might have an allergy. It's too late to give away, because the children are already in love. I got the Levoit air purifier and I can finally breathe. I've done other adjustments as well, but let it run all night and I'm fine. We use this filter system in our changing room. Doesn't matter! I am 100% satisfied with the features and performance. What worries me is getting rid of the old filters. I feel terrible when I throw them in the trash. Why does LEVOIT make them non-returnable and refit them by reusing the main parts? That's a problem enough that I would stop using it to save the planet.

I bought my air purifier 6 months ago and immediately noticed my allergies were MUCH better. I just changed the filter and couldn't believe how much dust was in the old filter. So quiet and the little light that shines out of the car is great for night time illumination. Not too bright. Just right. We have no children or pets and were shocked to see how much dust and dander our car picks up. It's in our bedroom. That's where most of the skin, dust, and dandruff is!

I keep this in my small bedroom (approx 12ft x 12ft) in a pet free home. These photos show the new finished filter (above) and different layers after about 3 months of use with settings of 2 or 3 on weekdays and less on weekends. I don't know what the average lifespan of this filter is for most people, but I'm comfortable changing it every 3-4 months.
