Ideal for dispensing bacteriostatic for humidifiers

My 2.5 gallon humidifier tank uses just under 1/2 ounce of bacteriostatic per fill (I highly recommend the Holmes bacteriostatic). The instructions for the bacteriostat say to measure with a bottle cap, but that's awfully messy. This fuel bottle eliminates the mess and makes it very easy to measure out the right amount of product.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Small change

Licks when turned upside down

Bought this for hiking so I can carry alcohol for my stove. It flows out of the spout lid. I don't keep it upright, but I can't guarantee it won't tip over in my backpack. I can't risk it leaking and running out of cooking fuel. Not recommended for hiking. It would be better if they add two screw caps with o-rings to prevent leakage.

Pros
  • Like everything so far
Cons
  • Good but not great

Convenient measuring cup

Makes measuring spirit lamp fuel easy and the dripper makes filling stoves easy without spilling. My bottle doesn't leak from any cap at all. The only downside is a little extra weight - if cost/ultra light weight is an issue, just use a dry soda bottle and mark it as poison with a Sharpee marker and mark the gradations (or use a tiny 1 oz. Measuring cup).

Pros
  • Don't waste time
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Ideal for making sanitizer

Used to dispense bleach to make a sanitizing solution. This helps to consistently dose the right amount of bleach without spilling it on yourself. You should always test with strips, but we've found that 1/4 oz gives about 150ppm of solution on our 2 quart pails. It seems a little expensive but it is very convenient and helps me to make the best product without getting arm cancer.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Slightly torn

The product must be made of thicker plastic.

They are very reasonably priced and perfect for my particular application but the plastic is not very thick and when trying to pour I end up pouring more liquid than I intended as the container tends to collapse. I had to buy a screw on the spout to avoid this problem. If it had been made a little thicker, the problem would most likely have been fixed.

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Not trendy

cat meows! fits sports water bottles

The measuring chamber makes it easy to accurately measure the amount of alcohol for my stoke so I don't have to wait for it to cool and then pour the rest back into the bottle, saving me from carrying a funnel. I solved a small leak problem with a cap by installing a neoprene o-ring from a hardware store to backpack tight. It's a bit light, so pack it so it doesn't wrinkle.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • No
