Best light for Razer Chroma

I really like these lights. I was looking for a way to sync my desk's RGB lighting with my computer. Coincidentally, they have a Chroma app for syncing with Razer's Chroma. A bit pricey but worth it for me.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Very rich color light bar

Installed to illuminate my computer monitor. This is really helpful for the eyes in a dark room. Installation was pretty much the same as all my other LIFX devices. It has multiple light zones so you can have many different colors along the strip. And you can make them move in any direction, a very bizarre effect.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Quality

Crappy system if you have an Orbi

Not easy to connect at all. garbage app If you have a grid system, this stupid program won't let you finish installing the lights. You only see 2.4. So if you have a mesh system, you literally have to reprogram the entire router on your account for these stupid things to complete setup, let alone work. Garbage! Especially for the price!

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Upgrades

Unreliable and unresponsive

By far the most unreliable smart home product I have ever purchased. The setup was agonizing and the lights often "go out". I had to reset them a couple of times to get them reconnecting, but after a couple of times they wouldn't connect anymore due to "unknown errors". If you have an eero or other mesh WiFi system, stay away. The lights are cute (when they work), but it's not worth the hours you spend troubleshooting.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Love them but good luck getting them working

I have a love-hate relationship with these lights. So far I've had to return 3 kits out of 4 because 3 of them were faulty one way or another, 2 wouldn't connect and the other worked great for a day then it started flashing but the working kit is amazing so I'm going to try again and I hope I get a good set that keeps working. Don't throw the Qcode in the box because the last sentence that started flashing when I tried to reset it required that code. So without that, they can't be dropped.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • not reliable

two strips 3 feet long

They're super expensive and super short but friggin' worth it. I usually buy LED for $32 for $20, but I decided to spend big and I'm so glad I did. The COLOR on these pieces is SOOO bright, so intense, and the fact that you can change the color of each zone individually is amazing. If I were rich I would install them everywhere. but I'm not rich so I'll just be lucky to have them and I HIGHLY recommend them. Make sure you untangle the bulbs before connecting them as you would any set of LEDsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Wouldn't buy again.

I have had two Z-strips for about 5 months now. I want to love them as I have 20 other LIFX bulbs at home. But after a year of working with LIFX Technical Support, it became clear that this product was orphaned. It doesn't receive software updates from other products, it has a poorly recognized Wi-Fi radio by LIFX, and its colors don't match other LIFX products. Most importantly, LIFX's cloud solution is unreliable, resulting in very poor HomeKit stability for Z-strips and mini white lightโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality structure
Cons
  • Negative available

Insanely difficult to set up

When trying to set it up I was forced to use HomeKit, the only problem was that it refused to connect to HomeKit. I've been looking for a solution for hours and there isn't one for this problem. OK. To skip HomeKit setup, you have to wait 15 minutes for the light to turn on to stop searching for HomeKit. OK. After that, I have to use my iPhone (Settings > Wi-Fi) to connect directly to the device. OK. After that, I had to manually enter my WiFi because although it was the strongest signalโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Little things

Absolutely horrible experience

Like many people, I read all the reviews and watched a lot of videos about LIFX tapes and they seemed like a pretty good smart solution for lighting my house with HomeKit. I was fascinated by the color zones and the possibility to animate them, that's why I chose this band and not Eva's band. bad mistake. First, it was very difficult to connect to the Home app and the LIFX app, and I had to unplug and restart it multiple times before it even happened and I could finally get it to work. but only
