💡 TR238W Recessed Cabinet Lighting Accessories Review

The only finish I could find that fits my 5" Thomas glass lamps. I thought they were all (semi) standard but I must have bought and returned 4 sets of different brands (Halo, Lithonia etc.) from major retailers. I then ordered these Thomas brand slip on rings and they fit perfectly. Tensioning the retaining springs is a bit fiddly, but no problem.

We have 14 Thomas Lighting 5" downlights in our house, they are identical to the original reflectors and trim rings. After 10 years the plastic trim rings were turning yellow so I bought a few just in case while I painted the old ones yellow. The Revain image shows the overlay ring turned upside down showing the rough back. When installed correctly, the ring will have a nice smooth finish and will fit snugly against the reflector.

Works well. I wanted to "wash" the wall behind the TV and these will do the trick. The only real downside is that the Thomas Lighting can is made for wire type spring arms which I find are a lot easier to adjust and a lot easier to remove the eyeball rim if needed. They have strips of spring steel that clamp the fairing in place. Luminaire manufacturers should also consider the longer LED versions of the bulbs (R20 in this case). All in all a good product and I would buy it again.
