These cables last less than 3 months. Eventually the ends will wear out and you'll have to play the game by flipping the cable until it starts charging. After that, the cable will not charge at all for a short time.

The pin end of the lighting cable is undersized compared to the standard Lightning end and loses connection with the iPhone as soon as you move the cable or the phone. It doesn't fully insert into the iPhone because the connector end is too short so it has a very weak connection.
