Simple Mobile Installation Ground

I use these to solidly ground 146/440 mobile installations while they are at the cottage. These radios have no other ground connections and the antennas are not grounded to the attic. The antenna and ground remain connected to the radio when I unscrew the connector for portable use. Not really used for lightning protection but can help with surges. For this purpose they are inexpensive and do what I need.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Roughly

Rugged design for surge protection

Easy connection to coaxial cable, grounding lug included. No problems transmitting or receiving, although I keep mine under 100 watts.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Annoying

Easy to install! fits line filter

The line filter is very easy to install but the question is does it work? I won't know until lightning strikes! In that case, I hope we never have to find out if this works or not, but it's comforting to know that I tried to do something to stop nearby lightning strikes!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expensive

Cracked surge protector

I was attempting to install this on a CB antenna and the ground screw broke immediately using hand tools and light force.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Slightly dented
